The Oyster Recovery Partnership is one of the largest and most organized efforts ever put into rebuilding the oyster reefs of the Chesapeake Bay. When John Smith traveled through the Bay in the early 1600s, the oyster reefs extended above the surface of the water, and the oysters would filter all of the Bay’s water in a single day. Now we only have ONE PERCENT of the original amount of oysters, and it takes our oysters AN ENTIRE YEAR to filter the water of the Bay.
That's Why Mount View Is Bringin' Oysters Back !
Every dollar that you donate plants 100 oysters! The Oyster Recovery Partnership has the facilities, the personnel, and the time. They just need funding! The more money that they receive, the more oysters they plant, so Mount View is trying to help ORP with a special campaign that runs until May 14th. Homeroom classes (Falcon Times) are competing to collect as many donations as possible.

Ready to Have Some Fun? Here's How to Get Started:
APRIL 10th- MAY 14th: Collect money for The Oyster Recovery Partnership. Donations can be made online or by check, but a donation form must be sent in for EACH donation to make sure that you (the student) get credit. Remember... every dollar that you collect becomes oyster cash to spend during lunch. Be sure to turn in your donations quickly, since some of the items for sale are first come, first served.
